Why These Words Have Meaning
I’ll admit, I haven’t always been a reader. I grew up glued to the tv screen. I repeatedly watched my favorite shows and movies—so much I knew every line. It wasn’t until I graduated high school that I started to read for pleasure. If I remember correctly, I began with books that were in the process of being adapted. I just had to read them because it’s a known fact that the book is always better than the movie.
Then, e-books were so readily accessible and mobile (thanks, Palm Pilot!) and it became easier to read on the go. During that time in my life, I had been traveling a lot so it wasn’t long before I would go through books faster than I ever thought possible.
These days, I go through audiobooks faster than I do paperbacks, hardbacks, or e-books. Because of my long commutes to and from work, it’s been my distraction from the humdrum drive through rush hour traffic.
